RECREATION PROGRAM / GRADES 1 – 8
Supervised recreational programs for children entering grades 1 – 8 as of September 2025.
**Please register for the grade your child will be going into in September.
Activities include: organized games, recreational activities, arts & crafts, special events, and more.
Recreation Programs meet Monday through Friday beginning Monday, June 30th and concluding Friday, August 1st at the following Recreation Centers.
Grades 1-5 (9:00 AM to 1:00 PM)
Albany Avenue, Northside, Saltzman East Memorial, and Woodward Parkway
Grades 6-8 (9:30 AM to 1:30 PM)
Howitt Middle School
Information regarding activities will be available at each of the centers.
All Summer Programs Will Be Closed On Friday, July 4th.

$110.00 registration fee per child is required.
SWIMMING INSTRUCTION / GRADES 2 – 9
Swim instruction for children entering grades 2 to 9 as of September 2025, at the Farmingdale School District Aquatic Center. There are 3 sessions offered. (Session dates are listed on our online registration site.) Each session consists of 8 (50 minute) classes, which include instruction and free swim. Class times: 10 AM, 11 AM, 1 PM, 2 PM, 3 PM.
Session 1 begins Monday, June 30, and ends Thursday, July 10.
Session 2 begins Friday, July 11, and ends Tuesday, July 22.
Session 3 begins Wednesday, July 23, and ends Friday, August 1.
Classes are organized by ability. Child must be at least 48” tall to participate.
All FYC Summer Programs Will Be Closed on Friday, July 4th.
Registration
$70.00 registration fee per child/per session is required.
TINY TOT SWIM INSTRUCTION
Swim instruction for children ages 1 to 6, at the Farmingdale School District Aquatic Center beginning Monday, July 14th and concluding on Friday, July 18th. Classes meet from 12:00 to 12:50 each day.
**Children must be accompanied by their parent, who will be required to go into the pool.**
Classes to include group and individual instruction.

THEATER ARTS
A multidimensional and highly creative program designed for boys and girls entering grades 4 through 12 as of September 2025. Experience acting, singing and dancing along with the technical aspects of theater production by participating in our Summer Program.
Program is scheduled to meet Monday through Friday, 9:30 AM to 1:00 PM beginning Monday, June 30th and concluding on Friday, August 1st at the Saltzman Elementary School Auditorium.
All FYC Summer Programs Will Be Closed On Friday, July 4th.

SEWING INSTRUCTION
For children entering grades 4 – 12 as of September 2025. Classes meet Tuesday and Thursday mornings 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM at the Howitt School beginning Tuesday, July 1st and concluding on Thursday, July 31st.
All FYC Summer Programs Will Be Closed On Friday, July 4th.

PRE-K
The FYC Summer Pre – Kindergarten program is designed to introduce
pre – kindergarten children to art materials, creative crafts, music, rhythms, dramatic play, and a sense of self – awareness within a kindergarten setting.
In order to enroll in this program, your child must be eligible to attend kindergarten in September 2025 AND must also be enrolled in the Farmingdale School District.
Classes are scheduled to be held at each of the district’s Elementary Schools.
(Albany Avenue, Northside, Saltzman East Memorial, and Woodward Parkway)
Classes will meet Monday, July 1st through Friday, August 2nd 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM.
All FYC Summer Programs will be closed on Friday, July 4th.
The FYC Summer Pre-Kindergarten program is a self-sustaining program. The fee includes instructional costs, materials, and a program T-shirt. A nominal fee will be charged for Special Events & Trips. Parents of participants will be asked to supply snacks as requested by the classroom teacher.

INSTRUMENTAL MUSIC
The FYC Summer Music Program is designed for experienced instrumental band and orchestra students entering grades 5 through 8 in September 2025.
The program is designed to help participants continue the development of skills they have already achieved in a fun, rewarding atmosphere.
In order to enroll in this program, your child must be enrolled in the Farmingdale School District.
The Summer Music Program will meet Monday, June 30th, 2025 through Friday, July 18, 2025 in the Howitt Middle School’s Music Suite.
(Classes will not meet on Friday, July 4th.)
An evening performance for families and guests will be held on Thursday, July 17, 2025.

The FYC Summer Music program is a self-sustaining program. The fee includes instructional costs, materials, medical insurance and a program T-shirt.

APPLICATION AND INSTRUCTIONS.
All applications for the C.I.T. Program, including the 3 letters of recommendation, must be received in the FYC Office by Wednesday, May 21, 2025. NO EXCEPTIONS.
You MUST Be Enrolled In The Farmingdale School District To Participate In The C.I.T. Program. C.I.T’s must be entering grade 9 as of September 2025.
